Who is behind Brazil Informations Website?

My name is François Painchaud. I am an Internet strategist and Latin America fan combined.

If you think that’s an odd combination, and that’s a question I have been asked a few times, please read on.

I have had quite a few experiences in my life. Luckily for me, I was working in the field of information technology in the mid-nineties when the Internet revolution happened (at least for me!). Working in server management on the Linux operating system sent me deep into the Net, servers and data transfers. Doing my thing was too much of a temptation; I quit my job, and set up my own company dealing with Internet consulting to Canadian SMEs. It was a heady time, and I practically waltzed around, learning new things everyday and applying them in my work. My company covered a lot of things – of course website creation, designing software, web-based solutions, and critical data hosting.

Over the years, I was fortunate to work with clients in many sectors like construction and transport, retail and services, aviation and utilities, marketing and advertising, real estate and special events. We provided informational, promotional and event-based solutions; did a lot of search engine optimization and e commerce; built customer relationship management (CRM) softwares and integrated ERP management solutions for our clients.

Then one day, I went to Latin America and fell head over heels in love with the place. I've been traveling throughout these countries for over 15 months now and did a lot of research on them, gaining deep insight on their way of life.

This website is a result of that labor of love so that you, dear reader, can share my experiences and knowledge.
