Night Life in Brazil, what more needs to be said?

There is no secret to the fact that Brazilians love to party. No matter where you travel in the country something fun always seems to be happening, whether it is an impromptu salsa concert on the sidewalk or a celebration parade down the main boulevard, the night scene in this country is full of color, music and spirit. Of course the night life in Brazil is livelier in some regions than others.

Rio de Janeiro, Legendary Night Life


Rio has several neighborhoods known for nighttime entertainment. This city has the best night life in Brazil. Copacabana is a touristy neighborhood that always manages to get quite crowded during the weekends. Avenida Atlantica is a boulevard that surrounds the beach. At night it is teeming with partygoers heading to the clubs, bars and discos for the evening. The north end of the beach area is the red light district with the more risqué nightclubs.

Ipanema in Rio is more of a bohemian and academic center. While not as wild as Copacabana there are several bars and nightclubs to drink and dance the night away. Barra da Tijuca in Rio comes alive at night. Semambetiva Avenue is the center of the nightlife with nightclubs, bars and restaurants. This area is the trendiest in the city and usually most crowded.

Sao Paulo is nice for Clubbing


You can experience true night life in Brazil by visiting the neighborhoods of the city of Sao Paolo. Bixiga or Little Italy sits right next to downtown Sao Paolo. Along with its outstanding Italian restaurants there is a rather raucous are filled with bars, clubs and discos for dancing until the wee hours of the morning. Jardin, also near down town Sao Paolo, is a bit more raunchy with X-rated and gay bars. However, it is considered to be one of the safer areas in the city. Vila Madalena and Pinheiros are other districts in Sao Paolo know for their nighttime entertainment. And, to rub elbows with the wealthy visit Faria de Lima. Take note however, most of the clubs in this area are members only.

Sao Salvador has Great Ambiance


Sao Salvado also is known for its night life in Brazil. Pelourinho, the older area of downtown Sao Salvador is known for its wild nightlife. Some of the safer areas to party here are Rua das Laranjeiras, Rua Castro Rebelo and Cruzeiro de Sao Francisco. These areas are especially known for the live music that will usually spill over into the streets. Sao Salvado is also known for its more sophisticated entertainment such as ballet and classical music.

Recife Spectacular Partys


The night life in Brazil is quite spectacular in Recife. Recife has three districts known for their lively nighttime fun. Boa Viagem is located beachside. There are many bars and nightclubs in this area. Local music, including Forro can be enjoyed by traveling to Boa Vigem square. While it is quite a tourist spot the area is safe and lay back for an enjoyable relaxing evening.

Olinda, about 6 Km from Recife can get quite lively at night. This area is not as touristy and has a very chaotic nightlife. In addition there are many excellent restaurants to enjoy here.

Recife Island is where the youth of the city like to gather. It has recently become on of the more popular and trendy areas of the city to spend a night of partying.

Fortaleza and Fiesta are one


Most of the nightlife in Brazil that goes on in this city is centered around the beach districts. Meireles is especially popular with tourists. There are many discos, bars and restaurants to enjoy in the area. Iracema is for the younger local crowd whereas Praia do Meireles attracts tourists and locals of all ages for dancing, drinking, and all around fun.

Night life in Brazil does not tend to get going until quite late in evening or early in the morning. Dancing, drinking and partying can last until dawn. This is especially true of nightclubs around the beaches. Locals and tourists will stay out until 3-4 am, grab some breakfast, change into a bathing suit and spend the day sleeping on the beach.
