Brazil is a wonderful potpourri of religion, multi ethnicity, colorful heritages and exciting festivals. People from various cultures call Brazil their home. The history of this country dates back thousands of years to the first Native American Indians who were the original inhabitants of the area. But today the country is rich in Portuguese culture and heritage and Portuguese is the official language of the state. This paradigm shift in culture occurred when Portuguese sailors settled in Brazil and called it their home for good. The indigenous population still persists but only in traces.
